Visiting the King of Rap

After the get together we had with our balikbayan friend, we decided to visit the wake of the King of Pinoy Rap, Francis Magalona. It was around 2am already and surprisingly, there weren't a lot of people at the Christ the King Church. As we got there, we met some of our friends, who came in just before us. We immediately saw Maxene at the sitting area outside and approached her right away. We all gave her hugs and expressed our condolences.

We all went in to look at the body of Francis just before leaving the church. Maxene went inside with us. As we approached the coffin, we could here the sound of Francis' records playing on the background. The walls of the room are filled with huge flower arrangements sent by family and friends from the industry and politics as well. Right in front of us was Parokya ni Edgar front man, Chito Miranda. After him viewing, it was our turn to finally see the body of Francis Magalona. He was wearing an all black ensemble, and in his hands is a gold rosary. It was such a surreal moment for me. I just couldn't believe that in front of me was the lifeless body of such an amazing artist. It suddenly came back to me that during kinder, my twin brother and I performed Mga Kababayan together. After leaving the church, my sadness then was replacedby the thought that Francis is already done suffering and is already resting in heaven.

RIP
