It is the first meeting of the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles and the De La Salle Green Archers on the elimination round of the 72nd season of the UAAP. It's my first time to not watch the live game between the two rivals, for a very long time now. Sucks! haha Have to watch at home on TV instead!
And so they wore yellow..
The crowd looks amazing in yellow, setting aside the greens and blues, to honor the late former President Cory Aquino. For this particular game day however, they had to ask all the audience form the FEU vs UE game to leave the Araneta before they could let the ADMU vs DLSU people in. Nyek!!! A big question mark!! Hello!! It hasn't been a problem before so why do it now? Anyway...
Before going into the game, I would just like to share with you my new crush from the Ateneo Basketball team...
He is Christopher Sumalinog. Cute niya noh! It was the first time I saw him play ever. My brother Gab says he's good. Chaka lang, daming tawag na fouls ng mga referee kanina! Kainis! Haha

The game started becoming rough! Well, La Salle has been really known to be a rough team on the court! Especially now that it's Ateneo they're playing against! However, on the third quarter Austria of the Ateneo made an unnecessary foul against Joshua Webb of La Salle that made him fall on the ground. What was surprising was how Joshua Webb reacted to that particular moment! He kicked Bacon Austria!! Hello!! This isn't Kickboxing!! Pakarough!!! Kere pa naman niya! Good thing it was followed by a 3 pointer by Eric Salamat!
My gosh! What has been going on with the Ateneo team lately?? Super daming errors and turnovers!! Rabeh was even blocked 2 times by a rookie from La Salle! Kakahiya! Haha
Down to 2 minutes, Ateneo leads by one point. Salva makes a 2 point jumper that gave them a three point advantage, the highest lead they've had so far in the game. Chaka talaga ni Rabeh! He was out og the game because of the twisted ankle! Hay nako! He didn't perform like an MVP on this game! Salamat has been a stealing machine, which was such a huge help bring back the momentum.
24.7 seconds left, they're back with a 3 point lead. Salamat was fould. He made 1 out of 2 freethrows. With a 4 point lead against La Salle, Bringas makes an unbelievable 3 pinter!!! OHMYGUARD!!! Just when you thought it's already in the bag! Kakaloka na talaga toh! Clock stops at 20.5 seconds for an Ateneo timeout.
It's back to a 1 point lead game. My heart is pounding!! La Salle makes a quick foul on Ryan Buenafe. He makesthe first shot. Whew! Shoots the 2nd as well! Haha 17.2 seconds, eto na!!! Down to 3 seconds and nothing has been shot by La Salle!! Bagatsing makes a very very long 3 point shot.. OHMYGUARD!!!!!!!!!! He makes it!!!
There's only 0.8 seconds left and Ateneo still has a chance! ( As if!!) ahahahaha The ball game is tied! Ateneo will inbound the ball, but goes out of bounds!! Careless Ateneo players!! Back to La Salle ball! They try to shoot... Wala!!! Yey!! ahahahahhaha
OVERTIME!
Ok, 67 all. Start of overtime. baclao makes the first 2 points. La Salle answers back right away! Tie na naman!! Jirits! Eric Salamat makes a travelling mistake! Still lucky, La Salle makes a backing ofense! ahahahaha Ateneo ball. Baclao tips in a Buenafe fadeaway!
Last 2 minutes!! ETO NA TALAGA!!!
Bagatsing fouls out and puts La Salle on penalty. 2 freethrows for Austria.. 1st one sealed! He also shoots the second one!! ahahahahaha There's a pause, Jiggy Cruz (my batchmate in Ateneo Grade School and High School) flashed on TV!
1 minute 38 seconds..
Mangahas tries to shoot a 3, but is a no go! Back to Ateneo. Jai's shot is also no good! Bader Malabes shoots a 3 pointer! Sheet! ahahahahaha It's a 2 point ball game with 25 seconds left. Nico Salva makes a crucial 2 points!!! Yey!!! ahahahahahaha La Salle shoots another 3.... WALA!!!!! ahahahahaha Ryan Buenafe gets the ball and is fouled right away! YEY!!! He gets one out of two!! No more time!!! End of overtime!!! Final score is 76-72!! Whew!! Thank God it's over!!!
